Case Harness
A small Java 21 agent harness for reviewing M&A documents. Each case keeps its own documents, findings and audit trail, and an agent can only reach that one case.
What you are looking at: real output from the command-line program, saved as a static page. Nothing runs on this page. This run is a scripted replay with no model call, so it shows the controls, not the quality of a model’s review. The code path to the live Claude API has been tested only against a local stub server. All case documents are fictional.
The controls
- Human approval: findings start as pending, and agents have no tool to approve them.
- Evidence check: a finding is rejected unless its quote appears word for word in the cited document.
- Case isolation: path traversal and symlink escapes are blocked, and each case has its own SQLite database.
- Audit trail: every tool call is logged, including denials, and database triggers refuse changes to the log.
- Prompt injection: documents are labelled untrusted, and no approve, send or delete tool exists for an agent to misuse.
The planted attack
One document in the sample case contains text aimed at the AI reviewer:

The scripted run acts out what a compromised model might try after reading it.

Red rows were denied. The green row is the only approval, and it came from a person. Model-turn rows are hidden.
